Dozens of young and aspiring ophthalmologists gathered during ASCRS 2022 for an engaging mentorship and educational event hosted by YoungMD Connect. The evening kicked off with a panel discussion led by Gary Wörtz, MD, featuring representation from each of the supporting companies. The panelists discussed working with industry, how to stand out while you are in training or early in your career in order to land a spot on the podium, and the biggest mistakes in physicians partnering with industry (and how you can learn from them). 

From there, attendees participated in small group mentoring sessions with ophthalmic thought leaders, featuring mentors from cornea, cataract/refractive, glaucoma, and retina subspecialties. The evening concluded with networking among attendees, seasoned surgeons, and industry supporters, while everyone toasted to the bright future of ophthalmology.
